RONALD D HILEMAN

 

Ronald D. Hileman, 66, Duncansville, died Friday morning at Morrisons Cove Home, Martinsburg, shortly after admission.

He was born in Altoona, son of Willard Dean and Lois (O'Shell) Hileman. He married Eileen M. "Renie" Kelly on Aug. 5, 1967, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Newry.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years; a daughter, Dana R. Leberfinger of Duncansville; a son, Ronald A. and wife, Christine, of Roaring Spring; three grandchildren: Marlene, Benjamin and Colleen; two sisters: Connie Gingerich and husband, Stewart, and Bonnie Johnson, all of Altoona; and three brothers: Chester and wife of Oley, Joel and wife, Marie, in Virginia, and Alan and wife, Collinda, of Hamburg. He was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.

He retired as a truck driver from Grannas Brothers.

Mr. Hileman served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict.

He was a member of the Duncansville VFW, a 40-year lifetime member of the Duncansville Volunteer Fire Company, where he formerly served as fire chief, member of Claysburg American Legion Post 62, Knights of Columbus Star of the Sea Council, and St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Newry, where he served as a Eucharist minister and usher.

Mr. Hileman enjoyed hunting at the family cabin.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg (www.sorgefuneralhome.com), followed by last call by the Duncansville Volunteer Fire Company. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Newry, by Monsignor Anthony B. Little. Committal at Old St. Patrick's Cemetery, Newry, with military honors by the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorials may be given to St. Patrick's Church or School Endowment Fund or Home Nursing Agency Hospice.
