Thomas C. "Tom" Riley, 70, of Altoona died Sunday morning at his residence. He was born in Penns Grove, N.J., son of the late Francis M. and Thelma (Dalby) Riley. He married Joan B. "Sissy" Prorok June 30, 1962, in Altoona.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters: Karen Dinardo and husband, Joe, and Nancy Hazlett and husband, Jeff, all of Altoona; son, Thomas P. of Altoona; five grandchildren: Brad and Derek Dinardo, Vince and Christina McCracken and Ryan Riley; sister, Dorothy "Dot" Gildea and husband, John, of Altoona; brother, Donald F. and wife, Vicki, of Altoona; and sister-in-law, Donna Riley of Hollidaysburg. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Patricia Criste and Mary Louise Dawson; and one brother, James R. Riley.

Tom was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, where he served as an usher. Mr. Riley was a member of Bavarian Aid Society. He was a line chief for PPG, Tipton, retiring in 1998 after 32 years of service. He served in the Navy with the rank of SA from June 18, 1957, to June 19, 1959. He was a 1957 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. Mr. Riley was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, camping and fishing, woodworking, radio-controlled model airplane flying and puzzles.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona (www.krishfuneralhome.com). A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at St. Rose of Lima, 5514 Roselawn Ave., Altoona, by Father Carl Spishak. Committal at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
