THOMAS PLUMMER

 

Thomas Plummer, 82, formerly of Greystone Estates, Johnstown, died Friday in West Palm Beach, Fla.

He was born in Altoona, son of James T. and Genevieve (Myers). He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sarah “Sally” (Wolf) Plummer; two daughters: Mary and S. Genevieve; and a granddaughter, Sally.

He is survived by seven sons: Thomas and wife, Gretchen (Hahn), of Fort Pierce, Fla., James and wife, Judy (Zirai), of Duncansville, Joseph and wife, Pam (Zepka), of Gettysburg, Samuel and wife, Regina (Moore), of Waynesboro, John and wife, Annie (Roarity), of Dublin, Andrew and wife, Janet (Foy), of Lutz, Fla., and Jerome and wife, Carole (Schleicher), of Lake Worth, Fla.; two daughters: Sister Ann Magdalene of Carmel of St. Therese of Lisieux, Loretto, and Jane (Plummer) Schickedanz and husband, Arthur, of Toronto; grandchildren: Aidana, Jane, Thomas and Aidan; Jennifer, Jessica, and Jimmy and wife, Alisha; Jillian, Joseph, Keith and Thomas; Sam, Kathryn and Carla; Theresa, Danny, Matthew and Michael; Sarah, Emily, J. Matthew, Siobhan and Miranda; Abigail, Julie, Mary, Clare, Andrew, Angela, Douglas and Paul; and Gus, Hannah, Emma, Xavier and Grace; a sister, Constance McCann of Santa Paula, Calif.; and two brothers: Raymond and wife, Mary Alice, of Altoona, and A. Paul and wife, Carolyn J., of Hollidaysburg.

He served in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII where he received the Purple Heart. He served on the Prison Society of Pennsylvania.

He served as an active member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Johnstown, where a funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, by the Very Rev. Paul E. Turnbull, V.F.

Private committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
