Edward Gilbert (1936- ­2016)

EDWARD A. GILBERT, 79, passed away on January 23, 2016.
He was born in Newark, Ohio in July 1, 1936 to Ellen and John Gilbert.

He is survived by Judi, his loving wife of 53 years, his daughter Kellen A. Gilbert, son­in­law Philip C Stouffer, grandsons Paul Gilbert Stouffer and William Keeley Stouffer of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and his son Kevin M. Gilbert, daughter­in­law Pamela Schubert Gilbert and granddaughter Harper Colette Gilbert of Houston. He is also survived by his brother Thomas Gilbert and many nieces and nephews.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marianne Gray, and brothers John, Charles and William Gilbert.
He grew up in Newark, Ohio and was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School. Ed attended Murray State University, Ohio State University and graduated cum laude from Franklin University.
Ed retired from the West Gulf Maritime Association where he was Vice President of Finance and Secretary/Treasurer.

He was an active member of Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Spring, Texas and a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 10872. He was a long time volunteer at the Northwest Assistance Ministry in Houston. Visitation will be Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 5­8pm and Vigil at 7:00 pm at Klein Funeral Homes, Champions, 16131 Champion Forest Drive and a funeral Mass Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11:00 am at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Klein Church Road, Spring, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Northwest Assistance Ministries, 15555 Kuykendahl, Houston TX 77090.
