Klein, Joseph V., was born August 13, 1940 to Vincent and Dorothy Klein in St. Louis, Missouri. He was baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Wednesday, January 6, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Susan (nee Murphy), whom he referred to as his "Angel". Also surviving are his son Vince (Carrie) Klein and his grandsons, Caleb and Patrick. Joe was a brother-in-law to Mary, Pat, John and Ellen Murphy, and an uncle to Colleen Murphy.
If you knew Joe, you knew that he never let his physical disability stop him from doing anything. He had cerebral palsy from the time he was born. Medical professionals in 1940 said he would never live past 6 years old. Individuals doubted he would ever make anything of his life. Yet Joseph graduated from Saint Louis University with a bachelor's degree in Human Services and Sociology and received a Master's degree from Webster University in Business Administration. After graduating, Joseph worked for the federal government for 34 years in service to his country as a civilian in the Army. After his retirement, he worked at Home Depot as a sales associate for 10 years in South County. He was active at Queen of All Saints parish and a proud 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Joseph was an important part of the American for Disabilities Act to help those with disabilities live better lives. He lived in downtown St. Louis for many years and helped Saint Louis City with the adaptation of the city for those with physical disabilities. Joseph fought tirelessly for what he believed! Joe was a bright light in this world. He always had a smile on his face and would make friends with anyone. He was a loving, kind man who loved his family very much. Joseph truly inspired and impacted countless lives. He will be loved and missed greatly! His legacy will live on in his family and friends for years to come. Tell those you care about how much you love them every day. Joe Klein always did. God welcomes him home with open arms and to live with Him eternally! |
