ROGER KELLER

 


Roger was born April 4, 1941 in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of David and Margaret (O’Neill) Keller. He attended Owatonna High School. Joined the Army in 1959 stationed in Fort Ord, CA. then went into the Army National Guard. He was united in marriage to Joan Broughton on June 29, 1963 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. They made their home in Owatonna where Roger worked as a brick layer for Union Local 10 then Local 1. Joan died October 6, 2010. Losing Joan was difficult for Roger. He missed her dearly, but he tried to keep his days full by going for drives, fishing, going to the casino and visiting his friends and family.

Roger enjoyed spending time at Cedar Lake where he and Joan stayed during the summer months for 40 years. After their retirement, the couple traveled south to Arizona. Roger was a member of the Eagle’s, Knights of Columbus and American Legion. Roger also enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by a daughter, Rita (and Tim) Klages of Elysian; a son, Terry Keller (and Kristin) of Madison Lake; four grandchildren, Jacie; Kaleigh; Taylor and Madison; four brothers, David Keller in South Carolina; Dewey (and Mary) Keller of Owatonna; Donald (and Ruth) Keller of Helena, MT; Daniel Keller of Owatonna; a sister, Judy (and Kevin) Driver of Owatonna; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; his parents; and a sister, Bonnie Radcliff.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 7, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Edward McGrath officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Allina Health Home Care and Hospice or donor’s choice in loving memory of Roger.
