DEACON ED GALINSKI

 

Edmund "Deacon Ed" V. Galinski, 84, of the Lake Lenape section of Andover Township, died at home on Thursday, October 22, 2015, surrounded by his loving family after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Deacon Ed was raised in Forest City, Pennsylvania, and moved to Andover Township in 1960. He was a Project Manager at Picatinny Arsenal for over 30 years before his retirement in 1986. A veteran of the United States Coast Guard, Deacon Ed served from 1950 to 1953, and later served in the National Guard. He was currently assigned as a Deacon to Good Shepherd R.C. Church in Andover Borough and had previously been assigned to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church in Swartswood and St. John Vianney in Stockholm. Deacon Ed was a member and former Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus and was also a member of the Sparta American Legion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Good Shepherd R.C. Church, Route 517, Andover Borough. Interment will follow in Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery in Green Township. Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.
