The Reverend Monsignor Roger William FORMOSI
Peacefully passed away into the hands of God on October 6, 2015 at the age of 73. One of two grateful sons of Umberto Formosi and Flora (Paci). He was born and baptized in Hamilton in 1942. His brother is Vincent Michael Formosi (Patricia) and his nieces and nephew are Jodi-Anne Formosi (Jorge Oliveira), Vincent Richard and Jaci-Lynn Formosi (Victor Martinho). Having completed formation and education Monsignor Formosi was ordained a priest of Jesus Christ for the Diocese of Hamilton in 1969. He served happily in many and varied ministries including Diocesan Vocation Director (10 years), high school chaplain, pastor of parishes and on countless boards, committees, movements, etc. For five years he served in national ministry as President of Catholic Missions in Canada. Monsignor Formosi was very privileged and grateful to God for the vocation to the holy Priesthood. He also thanks the Lord who blessed him with so many wonderful persons who touched, enriched and inspired his life. Eternal joy with the Holy Trinity and God's holy people is the ultimate goal and meaning of life. |
