DANIEL A ROCHE, SR.

 

Daniel A. Roche, Sr., 90, formerly of Florida and New Jersey, died Friday, July 3, 2015 at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Mary (Messen) Roche and Edna E. (Rover) Roche. Born in New York City, NY, December 26, 1924, Daniel was the son of the late Daniel and Mary (Cunningham) Roche. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II having received two Purple Heart Medals. Daniel was employed as a sales representative for Mueller Belting Co. in New Jersey before retiring. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors: Children, Daniel A. Roche, Jr. (Eileen) of Conway, SC, Susan F. Borchers (John) of Orefield, Dennis T. Roche of Neptune Beach, FL, Laura M. Keefner (Kenneth) of Great Barrington, MA, Joyce A. Vining of Jacksonville, FL; step daughters, Barbara Orlovsky (Dennis) of Clifton, NJ, Carol Bowers (John) of Vero Beach, FL, Paula Mutter (Dan) of Clifton, NJ; sisters, Mary Moran of West Palm Beach, FL, Kathleen Edwards of Pearl River, NY, Helen Anderson of Charlotte, NC; brother, Thomas “Brother Gerard” Roche of Staten Island, NY; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; predeceased by siblings, Margaret Mulligan, John and Joseph Roche.

Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield with the Rev. Msgr. Robert J. Wargo as Celebrant. Family and friends may pay their respects from 5 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, PA.
