GEORGE A. STROOT - CHARTER

 

George A. Stroot, 65, of 4934 Pennsylvania, chairman of the board of Physician's Exchange Ambulance Service, Inc. died yesterday at the home. He was born in Quincy, Ill., and lived here 51 years. Stroot was president and owner of Physician's Exchange 22 years before he retired in 1967 to become chairman of the board.

Before that he was an accountant for the former Faxon-Gallagher drug company and for Carter-Waters corporation. He attended Gem Business College, Quincy. Mr. Stroot was a member and past president of the Sertoma club of Kansas City. He was a member of the Board of Catholic Youth Organization, Knights of Columbus, Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and the Hillcrest country club. he was a member of the board of directors of Don Bosco center, one of the original sponsors of Oak Brook Home for Girls, and an honorary member of the board of trustees of Research Medical Center.

He was a member of Visitation Catholic church and former president of the Holy Name society at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church. He maintained an interest in and gave his private support to the welfare of underprivileged children.
