THOMAS A. SHEIL

 

Thomas A. Sheil, 71, Raytown, MO, passed away November 17, 2002, at St. Luke's Hospital. Mr. Sheil was born May 19, 1931, in Kansas City, MO. He was a 1948 graduate of DeLaSalle Military Academy and went on to Rockhurst College. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He then graduated from Kansas City College of Mortuary Science and joined the family business started in 1933 by the late John and Laurine Shell. He was a member of the DeLaSalle Alumni Association and was on the Board of Directors of the DeLaSalle Education Center, Raytown Optimist Club, Friends of the Rice-Tremonti Home, Raytown Historical Society, Raytown Democratic Association, Jackson County Democratic Committee, former member of Raytown Board of Aldermen, former member of the International Order of the Golden Rule, Council 4962 Knights of Columbus, and Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree, and Our Lady of Lourdes Men's Club and served as an usher. We will always remember his love for God, his family and friends, his Irish heritage, the Ozarks, the Chiefs, and living life to the fullest. We will miss him and his quiet sense of humor (and his excellent BBQ).
