Lt. Cot. Michael W. Sayer, retired, 55, of Kansas City, Missouri formerly of South Bend, IN. passed away at 11:50 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2003 in the University of Kansas Medial Center. Lt. Cot. Sayer graduated from St. Joseph High School in South Bend in 1966. He completed his Bachelor's Degree at the University of Notre Dame in 1970 and received his Master’s Degree from the University of Arkansas. He was honored as a distinguished officer throughout his military career with several personal decorations and awards. His career concluded in 1996 with an Honorable Discharge when he retired from the United States Air Force after 25 years of service. Lt. Cot. Sayer was a 4th Degree member of the Raytown Knights of Columbus Council 4962, and a member of the local DAV and VFW. Lt. Col. Sayer was a member of St. Regis Catholic Church in Raytown, Missouri. He was born on February 23, 1948 in South Bend to Stephen and Julia (Nemeth) Sayer. On May 30, 1969 in South Bend he married Rosemary Kaczmarczyk, who survives. |
