Ambrose A. Graver Jr. died December 24, 2003, at Research Hospital. He was born August 22, 1929 in Dubuque, IA of parents, Ambrose A. Garver, Sr. and Mary Margaret Nolan. He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1948. He came to the Kansas City area in 1959 where he began employment in 1960 at Western Electric in Lee’s Summit where he worked in Machine Maintenance until his retirement in 1987 after 271/2 years. He was also a member of Local Union 6360 of Communications Workers of America. He married Virginia Rose Diel on April 22, 1961 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Marshall, MO. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where he served as choir member and parish council member. He was a 3rd and 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 4962. He was a retired Captain of the U.S. Army with 22 years of service. He was a member of Cub Pack and Boy Scout Troop 283 where he served as Webelos Leader, Assistant Scout Master and Committee member and a proud father of three Eagle Scouts. He was also a Honorary Warrior of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Among his favorite hobbies was woodworking, camping and fishing with his family and watching Chiefs football. |
