Michael James Lynch, 89, Dallas, TX, formerly of Raytown, MO, died at his home on Friday, October 22, 2004. Mike was a faithful Catholic who went to Mass daily until his declining health prevented him from attending. A longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, he was active in numerous ministries and organizations. As a Lay Minister of the Eucharist, he distributed Communion at Mass and in hospitals and nursing homes. He was past President of the parish St. Vincent DePaul Society, Board Member of the Credit Union, and was a member of the Men's Club, the Friendship Club, and the Knights of Columbus Council 4962. Mike also volunteered countless hours at the Little Sisters of the Poor Nursing Home. Mike was a devoted family man, providing an excellent example to his sons, grandchildren and nieces and nephews, on how to live for others. He was always willing to listen to their problems and never failed to offer words of encouragement and comfort. Mike was a dedicated employee, who retired after 20 years as a Route Salesman for Foremost Dairies. Staying active, he drove a school bus for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and the Raytown Consolidated School District. His final job was with the Kansas City Royals Baseball Club, retiring in May 2002. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and he loved his country. He honorably served in the United States Army for six years during WWII. He served overseas in New Guinea and the Philippines.
