COUNCIL #4962 - RAYTOWN- POPE PIUS XII REMEMBERS
MICHAEL R. WESTHUES

Michael R. Westhues, 58, Raytown, Mo., passed away peacefully on May 22, 2013, at Research Hospital surrounded by his family. Mike battled his cancer heroically, as he did every challenge in his life.

Mike was born on Nov. 2, 1954, in Kansas City, Mo., to Frederic and Jacqueline Westhues. Mike was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Raytown South High School. After high school, he graduated from a four year electrical program. Mike rarely sat still; he was full of life and energy. His drive and vision led to the formation of Westhues Electric and he was very proud of the family owned business' continued success. Mike never met a stranger; he adapted quite easily to any situation. He made many friends while working on the Blue Anchor Bay Condo project at the Lake of the Ozarks and part of his spirit will remain there. His greatest joy was being home, puttering in the barn, working on his cars and spending time with family, friends and neighbors. Mike had an extraordinary mechanical ability and could find a solution to any problem. His interests were diverse, from piloting his plane to restoring classic cars.
