William Thomas Corcoran, beloved husband and father returned to heaven July 13, 2007. Bill was born November 29, 1913 in Lawrence Kansas to Thomas Martin Corcoran and Edna Mae Weinberg Corcoran. He met the love of his life Dorothy Lilliam Cox Corcoran, at Lawrence High School. They were married May 30, 1941 and made their home in Kansas City, Missouri. Together they raised and nurtured a family of nine children. He was hard working, selfless, honest, caring, generous and proud of his entire family. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1935 and was a proud Jayhawk his entire life. He was a veteran of World War II and begin his career as an accountant at the firm of William Pesman and retired as Secretary-Controller for Francis Gee Garment Company in 1982. Bill was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church since 1952 and served on many committees and helped with many functions there including that of Eucharistic Minister. Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4962 and was awarded the "Bishop's Award" in February of 1995 in recognition and appreciation for an outstanding visible contribution to the life and work of the Church in the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph. |
