LEO H. DAY

 

Leo H. Day, 87, formerly of Independence and Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011, at John Knox Village Hospice House. Leo was born August 30, 1923, in Pilot Grove, Missouri, to George and Theresa (Kempf) Day, one of eight children. He was a graduate of Pilot Grove High School and a member of the championship basketball team. Mr. Day was president of the Lyons Club in Boonville, MO, a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and served as Commander of the honor guard, and was the manager of the Raytown, MO Knights of Columbus Hall. Leo worked for Bendix Corporation as a Tool and Die Machinist for 33 years and was an evening manager for Western Auto for many years.
