COUNCIL #4962 - RAYTOWN- POPE PIUS XII REMEMBERS
JOHN W. MINCHER

While holding the hand of his loving wife, John Walter Mincher, 88, peacefully passed from this life on July, 5, 2013.

Dad was born on May 14, 1925 in Youngstown, Ohio, to Fred and Margaret Mincher. He attended Boardman High School until 1942 when he joined the Army Air Corps. He proudly served his country until 1946. While he was stationed in Washington, DC, fate put him in the same taxi cab as a beautiful girl from Argyle, Missouri. He married the love of his life on August 31, 1946 at Redemptorist Church. John and Bea made their home in Kansas City.

Together, Mom and Dad raised their family with faith, love and devotion that etched each of our hearts with his love for his family. His warm smile and personality invited everyone to be his friend. He was a member of St. Elizabeth parish for twenty years where he was a scout leader, scout master and baseball coach. He was a third degree Knight of Columbus and retired from Southwestern Bell Yellow pages after 26 years. He loved to take his family camping every summer where many treasured memories were made. His Sunday breakfast brought his family together every weekend and kept our family bond strong.
