DONALD CHARLES MORMAN

 

Donald Morman, age 77, passed away at Clare Bridge Assisted Living on April 29, 2015.
Friends may greet the family from 4-6 PM Wednesday, May 6th at the Brick-Meger Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the funeral liturgy at church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, May 7th at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Military Honors will be provided by the Steel County Funeral Unit. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
He was born in Hebron, North Dakota to Edward and Helen Morman. Don was raised in Beulah, North Dakota . He graduated from Beulah High School and later attended and graduated with a BSBA and LLB from the University of North Dakota. He also was one of the first ROTC students to receive his aviator training while at UND.
After college Don then entered the US Army where he served Army Aviator in Germany until 1965.
He met and married Dorothy Outka of Hettinger while at UND. They were married for 54 years.
After serving in the US Army, Don worked for Federated Insurance as a claims adjuster and later as vice president and director of field claims before retiring in 1999. He worked for Federated Insurance in towns of Worthington, MN, Des Moines, IA and Owatonna, MN.
Don's hobbies included wood working, XC skiing, biking and also traveling. Don helped with building for Habitat for Humanity, is a member of the Elks, Knights of Columbus and St Joseph's Catholic Church.
Don is survived by his wife Dorothy, three children, Daniel of Rochester, Debra(Jason) Leuzzi of Brisbane Australia, and Douglas (Ina) Lukas of Visa, CA; three grandchildren Sasha and Kiva Lukas and Briana Morman; one sister Daphne (Ron) Sturtz, one brother Dale Morman (Jo). He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother David Morman.
