Charles (Bud) Bordenkircher, 94, of Palatine, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026; just shy of his 95th birthday. Charles was born on May 25, 1931, to Charles and Wilhelmina Bordenkircher in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. Charles proudly served in the United States Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He married Margaret Mary (nee Koch) on July 11, 1953, and they had celebrated 70 years of marriage before her passing on October 12, 2023.
Charles is survived by his children, Karen (Bob) Weder, David (Georgette) Bordenkircher, Paul (Kathy) Bordenkircher, Julie (Karl) Lange, Beth (Mark) Steeber, Jeanne (George) Ganshirt and Marjorie (Mark) McAllister. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife, his parents, his children, Francis and Julie Marie, and his sister, Betty Bernet. He will be missed by his in-laws and nieces and nephews. Charles was so loved by many, including his 28 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
Brother Bud was a Charter Member (founding member) of Holy Ghost Council #4977. He was the last known living founding member of our 66 year old council.
