JASON EICHORN

 

Jason Eichorn passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, early Monday, April 27, 2015, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill at the age of 51.

Jason is survived by his mother, Lorraine Eichorn of Town Creek, wife Deborah Eichorn and son Thomas Eichorn of Town Creek, as well as his sister, Melissa Lewis (Dary) of Town Creek. He is preceded in death by his father, James Eichorn of Town Creek.

Jason was born on February 12, 1964, in Wilmington to James and Lorraine Eichorn. He graduated from South Brunswick High School in 1982 with an abundance of credits in lunch and physical education. He married the love of his life, Deborah Eichorn, in September of 1989. The couple welcomed their little miracle, Thomas Eichorn, in January 1997.

Jason was a devoted husband and father who loved his family. He was an exceptional friend who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was an avid hunter and lover of the Washington Redskins.

Jason had a laugh that could infect a roomful of people instantly. He could often be found laughing and making jokes.

He retired after serving proudly for 23 years as a member of the Army and National Guard. Jason was a highly decorated marksman, including a National Championship title. He enjoyed coaching baseball and creating a lasting impact on the team members. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southport, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus.
