Edward G. Garlena, 76, of Lakemont, passed away Friday. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Edward W. and Mary Jane (Bushby) Garlena.
He married Nancy Wiedemer in 1972.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years; and a daughter, Elizabeth Garlena.
He graduated from St. Charles College in Catonsville, Md.
Ed worked in IT and retired from the Blair County Adult Probation Office in 2017.
He was a member of AMBUCS and was a 4th Degree Knight in Knights of Columbus, Star of the Sea Council 4245.
Ed enjoyed electronics, volunteering at the St. Vincent de Paul Needs Office and reading.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a vigil service will be held.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon on Friday, April 17, 2026, at St. John the Evangelist Church, Lakemont.
Private interment at Calvary Cemetery.
