Dennis A. Jorgensen, age 69 of Kearney, died on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at his home in Kearney. A Funeral Mass will be on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Kearney. Father Paul Colling will celebrate and burial will be at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. followed by a wake service at 5:00 p.m. all at the church. Military honors will be provided at graveside by the American Legion Post #52, Kearney V.F.W. Post #759 and the Nebraska National Guard Funeral Honors Team. Dennis was born on July 20, 1955 to Dennis A. and Frances M. (Pollock) Jorgensen in David City, NE. He attended Ulysses Elementary School and then Seward High School graduating with the class of 1973. Dennis proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He married Grace Benes on June 20, 1980 in Valparaiso, NE.
Dennis was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Kearney, the Kearney American Legion, Knights of Columbus and also the Eagles Club. Dennis and Grace owned/operated Select Sprayers east of Kearney.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Grace of Kearney; his daughters, Angela (Jason) Smith of Kearney, Megan (Lynden) Hollander of Kearney and Kayla (Robert) Klug of Bellevue; He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Aryn, Bryden, Taylee, Easton, Camden, Gracelyn, and Sutton.
Dennis is also survived by his brother, Richard (Virginia) Jorgensen of Texas and Sister-in-Law, Marjorie Jorgensen of Seward; and many more family members who will mourn his passing.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; step father, Ernest Vodicka; his sister, Judy Baker and brothers, Thomas Jorgensen and James Jorgensen.
