KENNETH LEE CONNELLY

 

Kenneth "Ken" Lee Connelly, Sr., a 52-year resident of Cape St. Claire, MD and previously of Baltimore, MD, died on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 in Annapolis, MD. He was 86.

Born November 16, 1928 in Baltimore, MD, Ken graduated from the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in 1948. He served in the United States Army as a private 1st class. Ken worked for the M.T.A. and retired after 40 years of service. He was member of St. Mary's Parish in Annapolis, the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus Council 1384, where he was a past Grand Knight. Ken enjoyed boating, gardening, woodworking, trains, traveling and telling jokes and stories.

He was the beloved husband of Catherine Connelly, whom he married in 1951; father of Kenneth Connelly Jr. his wife, Trixie, Timothy Connelly and his wife, DeDe, Robert Connelly and his wife, Deborah, Patricia Waller and her husband, Alvin, Edward Connelly and his wife, Diane, Daniel Connelly Sr. and his wife, Noreen, Theresa Connelly-Lee and her husband, Patrick, and Margaret Burkhart and her husband Mark; grandfather of Jennifer Care, Elizabeth Korwek, Michelle Wilson, Maria Underwood, Theresa March, John Connelly, Karen McGinnis, Matthew Waller, Elizabeth Christensen, Jacqueline Waller, Christopher Connelly, Lisa Connelly, Jade Womack, Shyanne Womack, Daniel Connelly Jr., Kenneth Connelly, Michael Lee, April Lee, John Raulin, Leanna Raulin, Laura Burkhartand Luke Burkhart; great-grandfather of Taylor Care, Dylan Care, Ryan Korwek, Brooklyn Korwek, Ethan Underwood, Ava Lyn Underwood, Bella Underwood, Layna March, Landon March, Olivia March, Maria McGinnis, Anthony McGinnis, Lexi McGinnis, Breanna Connelly, Robert LeBlance, Alyssa Connelly, Erik Connelly.

Friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Tuesday, April 14 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD on Wednesday, April 15 at 9am. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 217 E. Redwood St., 23rd Floor, Baltimore, MD 21201.
