EARL VANDENLANGENBERG

 

Earl Joseph VandenLangenberg, age 87, passed away on September 26, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Green Bay, WI on March 19th, 1938 to Marcella (Rukamp) and Alfred VandenLangenberg.

Earl graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1956 and went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy. In 1958 he met the love of his life, Dorothy Ann Bartz, and they married on April 30,1960. Together they recently celebrated 65 wonderful years of marriage.

Earl built his career in sales, finding much success because of his passion for working with people and eventually fulfilling a dream by starting Bay Insurance Agency in 1991. Outside of work he had great passion for woodworking and loved golfing & bowling. Known for his hearty laugh and wonderful sense of humor, Earl brought joy and lightheartedness to everyone he met.

A man of service, Earl devoted much of his time to helping others. He received the Silver Knight Award, was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, and was instrumental in starting girls’ softball in De Pere, He also coached little league baseball and served as a leader for the Boy Scouts.

Above all, Earl loved his family. He deeply cherished his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren supporting them in all their adventures and cheering them on in sports and life. He was the family's "go-to guy" for advice, encouragement, and simply a listening ear. He was one of a kind and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy, his children Craig (Kelly) VandenLangenberg, Jodi (Gerry) Byrne and Todd (Molly) VandenLangenberg; his grandchitdren Nicole (Rob) VonHolzen, Melany (Ross) Kornowske, Derek (Brooke) VandenLangenberg, Lauren (Bryan) Sullivan, Brianna (Nic) Veras, Jake VandenLangenberg & Jordan (Connor) Konshak; great-grandchildren Ethan, Lili, Riley, Owen, Finnley, Noah, Lane, Hope, Theo, Kennedy & Tate.

He is also survived by his siblings: Roger (Bonnie) VandenLangenberg, Keith (Cathy) VandenLangenberg, Pete VandenLangenberg, Mary Verheyen, Sandy (Mike) Klimek, Marlis (George) Richards; sisters-in-law Betty VandenLangenberg & Karen Bartz. He will also be remembered fondly by many other relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: siblings Rodney VandenLangenberg, Carmen Kane & Clayton VandenLangenberg; and in-laws John Kane, Cyril Verheyen, Cheryl Allard, Ervin & Lois Bartz, Ordie & Mae Berndt & Dennis Bartz.

Family and friends may gather at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. 10th Street De Pere, WI 54115, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1305 Lourdes Ave, De Pere, from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. James Baraniak O. Praem. Officiating.
