LEONARD M SHUKAUSKY

 

Leonard J. Shukausky, 93, of Upper Macungie Twp., passed away on March 27, 2025 at Whitehall Manor. He was the husband of the late Anna M. (Stancavage) Shukausky who died in 2019. Leonard was a chemist at the Stroh Brewery, formerly Schaefer Brewery, in Foglesville until retiring. Prior to that, he worked in the drafting department at the former Fuller Company in Allentown, PA and the drafting department at Austenal Company in NJ. Born in Mahanoy City, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Bonavich) Shukausky. Leonard was a 1949 graduate of Mahanoy City High School. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield and the Knights of Columbus Council #10921 at the church. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. At the church, he was a former usher and assisted with the parish breakfasts. Survivors: Son: Anthony C. Shukausky of Upper Macungie Twp., Grandchildren: Ryan A. Shukausky and Kaitin L. Shukausky. Brother: Francis Shukausky of Ashland, PA. Sister-ln-Law: Claire Stancavage of Tuscarora, PA, Nephews: Mark Stancavage of Tuscarora, PA, Francis J. Shukausky of Berwick, PA, and Michael Shukausky of Los Angeles. CA and Nieces: Ann Dougherty of Denver, CO. Clare Stancavage of Hurdle Mills, NC, and Rita Deimler of Hurdle Mills, NC. He was predeceased by sisters: Blanche Shukausky of Mahanoy City PA and Sister Carmelita Marie, of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, Columbia PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church 1879 Applewood Dr, Orefield. A calling hour will be held on Friday, from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the Church. Contributions may be made in his memory to St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church or to Catholic Charities.
