John Gerard Fallon of New York, NY and Woodbridge, VA passed away on October 10, 2024. John was born to James and Ann (nee Kearney) Fallon on February 10, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY. He grew up in Bay Ridge with his sister, Marian and two brothers, James and Kevin. He was immensely proud of being from Brooklyn and never recovered from the Dodgers leaving in 1958. John graduated from St Michael’s Diocesan High School in 1959. He joined the Army in 1962 and was stationed in Fort Jackson, South Carolina until he left the service in 1964. For the next 35 years, John worked for Trans World Airlines (TWA). He travelled extensively in Europe in the 1960s and 1970s often spending his summers with cousins in Ireland. He loved to share the stories of his trips with family and friends.
While working at TWA, he met his beloved wife, Patricia. John and Patricia were married on September 25, 1976 at St Brendan’s Parish in the Bronx. They have four children: Kathleen Dilhomick (nee Fallon), Patrick, John, and James. Together they moved to Woodbridge, VA in 1993. John had a deep passion for a wide variety of music. He loved everything from Beethoven to the Clancy Brothers & Tommy Maken to old country music of the 1950s through the 1970s. Family road trips were to the soundtrack of Patsy Cline, Glen Campbell and Slim Whitman. He had a great interest in history and love of classic movies. John also loved comedies and could easily quote from two of his favorites, Dumb and Dumber and What About Bob? We will miss laughing with him. A devout Catholic, John was a parishioner of St Elizabeth Ann Seton in Lake Ridge, VA.
Pre-deceased by his parents James and Ann and his wife, Patricia, John is survived by his four children, his beloved grandchildren John Jr and Claire Fallon, his son-in-law Brian Dilhomick, daughters-in-law Bethany Fallon (nee Shaw) and Rebecca Striney, his sister-Marian Jenny (nee Fallon), his brothers the Reverend James P Fallon SSJ, and Kevin Fallon, his nephews Stephen, Brian, William, Robert, and Gerard Jenny, and nieces Mary Jenny and Anne Marie Owens (nee Jenny) and sister-in-law Kathleen Rowan.
