Richard L. Spochart, 77, of Roaring Spring, formerly of Bedford County, passed away Sunday. He was born in Pittsburgh, son of the late Walter and Elizabeth (Presky) Spochart.
He married Beverly Crist in 1996.
Surviving is his wife of 29 years; two sons, Michael and wife, Brandi, in Maryland, and David and wife, Nichole, of Vinco; a stepdaughter, Traci Osman of Alum Bank; two stepsons, Christopher Crilly and wife, Jessica, in Virginia and Nathan Crilly and wife, Cassidy, in Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Walborn; and a twin brother, Robert.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald.
Rick graduated from East Juniata High School in 1965 and earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Saint Francis University.
He worked as an accountant at Barnes Saly & Co., Mount Aloysius, Altoona Pipe & Steel, Lockheed Martin and the DeGol Organization.
Rick was a member of the Knights of Columbus Star of the Sea Council 4245.
He attended St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Rick enjoyed jigsaw puzzles.
Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg; and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Newry, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Father Allen P. Zeth, celebrant.
Committal will be at Bedford County Memorial Park. |
