CASEY, Arthur Joseph - Arthur Joseph Casey, 4th Degree 2020 Assembly, of Barrie, Ontario, passed away surrounded by his family on December 25, 2012. He was born in 1928 in Concord, New Hampshire and raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. As a young man, Art moved to Ontario where he began his lifelong career with Ontario Hydro. In 1955 he married Isabel Plunkett of Toronto. Settling in Scarborough to raise their family, Art and Isabel became active members of St. Lawrence Parish. Following their move to Barrie in 1973, Art continued his association with the St. Vincent de Paul Society and became involved in the annual Christmas Cheer drive as well as the Knights of Columbus. In his retirement, Art enjoyed golf and curling as well as his volunteer work at the Royal Victoria Hospital. Throughout the years, Art particularly enjoyed the company of his family. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Isabel; his children Jane, Catherine (Bert), Bill (Sherry), Ann (Tom), and Peter (Kelly). Art was a loving Grampa and Poppa to Matthew, Jamie, Tyler, Jordan, Cameron, Adam, Jeffrey, and Andrew. Family and friends will be received at the STECKLEY- GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, 201 Minet's Point Rd., Barrie (705-721-1211) from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., on Friday, December 28, 2012. Funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Vianney Church followed by a reception. Private family interment.
