SK AUGUST CHRIS FRITSCHMANN, III

 

Virginia Beach - August "Chris" Fritschmann, III, 85, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015. He was the son of the late August Christian Fritschmann, II and Marjorie Fritschmann.

Chris served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and retired from the Norfolk Fire Department after 27 ½ years of service. Chris was the owner of Decorative Service and also worked for the Altmeyer Funeral Home. Chris retired from working at the age of 82. He was a member of the Church of the Ascension Catholic Church in Virginia Beach; Knights of Columbus, Mother Teresa of Calcutta Council 12117, former member of Lynnhaven Masonic Lodge #220 AF & AM and the Khedive Temple where he was a member of the Legion of Honor and the Khedive Highlanders as a bagpiper.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Audrey Fritschmann; and a brother, Harry Fritschmann and his wife June of Chesapeake; sister-in-law, Linda Patterson of Suffolk; niece, Leona Rickerson and he husband Aaron of Suffolk; great nephew, Wyatt and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Valentine Ripley and his Beloved Cats, Bonnie and Clyde.
