Obituary for Walter J. Kupchinski
Walter J. Kupchinski, also known as "Pop" "Wally”, a proud veteran of the Korean war passed away peacefully at the age 92 at his home in Lewes, DE on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, with his family and beloved pets. He was born on Monday, July 6, 1931, in Shenandoah, PA, son of the late Luke Kupchinski and Nellie (Radishki) Kupchinski.

Walter graduated from Shenandoah Valley High School. Throughout his life Walter had so many enjoyable experiences in his careers. He was from the Wilmington Police Department; he was a security officer for Dupont and was a bartender at Polaski Legion. Whatever he did he was all in. Some of Walters’s hobbies included completing the daily crossword puzzle, listening to polka music, shooting pool, playing bar bingo with his bingo partner Donna and friends at the American Veteran’s. In his younger years he enjoyed playing the trombone and the saxophone and when he relaxed, word search was his favorite thing to do. Walter was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Knights of Columbus, The American Legion, and Pulaski Legion.

Walter was proceeded in death by his loving wife, Joann Andruzzi Kupchinski and his great grandchildren, Alyssa and Elijah Rivera Kupchinski.

He is survived by his sons, Walter K. Andruzzi (Cynthia), Joe Kupchinski (Karen), Michael Kupchinski (Candy), John Kupchinski (Theresa) with whom he lived for 15 years. five grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; his 9 great grandchildren; and his faithful beloved Brutus.
