Jerry was a 4th Degree Knight.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Harriet; his daughter, Hope (Dennis Sabo); his grandchildren, Sylvie, Jules, and Nolan Sabo; his step-father, Rinaldo James Vero, Jr.; and other relatives and friends.
Jerry was born in Hampton, Virginia but lived in Alpharetta and surrounding areas for more than 50 years. His life was deeply focused on family, faith, and his passion for race cars. Jerry was either racing cars at Road Atlanta, fixing cars to race them, or watching racing on weekend afternoons. At 73 years young, his heart was stolen by his first grand baby (Sylvie) and she was followed by two more siblings (Jules and Nolan), all of whom affectionately called him Papa. He could often be found sharing their pictures and boasting of their accomplishments. He also loved cruises, golf, a good drama novel, apple strudels, and a 5 o’clock scotch. Beyond all though, he will be remembered for his strength and unwavering commitment to live another day.
