Wesley Anderson Bell, a founding member of the Philip Paul Breen Council 8576 in 1984 and Past Grand Knight of Council 8576 (1994-1995).

Wesley Anderson Bell, 84, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones, and friends in the Knights of Columbus and with classic country music in the background.

He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where he was a proud 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, where he served as Warden of the Holy Spirit Council. He was president of the Daisy Dallas Lions Club and a graduate of the Class of ‘58 of Notre Dame High School. He retired after 25 years as a radioman in the U.S. Navy, having served a multitude of assignments and deployments, not only domestically but also overseas. He will always be remembered with his cup of coffee and a cigarette.

He was preceded in death by his adored wife of 53 years, Janet Bell, parents, John L. Bell, Sr. and Etta Ruth Starnes Bell, brother, John L. Bell, Jr. and sister, Ruth Louise Maroni.

Survivors include his daughter, Maria (Christopher Porter) Bell, granddaughter, Amber Bell, great-grandchildren, Javier and Xavier Bell, sisters, Barbara Garrison and Rebecca Fouts and several nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.

Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Mike Creson officiating. Burial will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 1 p.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 4-6 p.m. at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
