GEORGE F. BOTTNER, JR.

 

George Frederick Bottner, Jr.,76, a resident of Davidsonville, MD died peacefully on February 3, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on November 6, 1938 in Annapolis, MD to the late George and Emma Bottner, George graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Annapolis and served in the U.S. Navy with the Sea Bees from 1959 to 1963. He retired as a superintendent with Carpenter’s Union Local 132. George was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville, the Knights of Columbus, the Farm Bureau and the Waterman’s Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry and the occasional “kleinen schluck”. George is survived by his wife, Kathy Bottner; children, Jon Bottner of Gambrills, MD, Lisa Fenton and Kristi Parker both of Davidsonville; brother, Bill Bottner of Westminster, MD; grandchildren, Henry Parker, Sarah, Cassandra and Alexis Fenton all of Davidsonville, MD. Crystal Joy, Becka and Ella Bottner all of Gambrills, MD. Friends are invited to George’s Life Celebration on Saturday, February 7 from 8:30 to 9:30 am at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 am at the Holy Family Catholic Church Chapel, Davidsonville, MD. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Assn., 135 Parkinson Ave., Staten Island, NY 10305 or the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy., Pasadena, MD 21122.
