Sherry Popovich Obituary
Sherry L. Popovich, 79, of the Tellico Village Community in Loudon, Tenn., went to meet The Lord on July 23, 2024, following a battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Sherry was born in Sandusky, Ohio, on Jan. 2, 1945. She graduated from Sandusky High School and was an architect designing homes in California.
Sherry and husband Steve retired to Tellico Village in 2000. She was a member of the Tellico Community Players - designing costumes for The Playhouse.
She was also known as "the cake lady," making numerous cakes for various occasions. Sherry was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents Owen and Ruth lehle and her sister Diane lehle.
Survivors include Steve Popovich - her husband of 46 years; daughter Gidget Wagner (Mike) and granddaughter Lauren of California; son Heath Bernston and grandsons Michael and Kevin; brother Dennis lehle (Margery); and numerous grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
The family received friends on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in St. Thomas Catholic Church of Lenoir City - with Mass following at 11 a.m.
Burial was scheduled to be held in the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway in Knoxville on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024, at 12:30 p.m.
