Joseph passed away in Tucson on December 19, 2014, at the age of 93. Rosary Service will be held at 7 pm on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Bring’s Broadway Chapel, 6910 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am on Monday, December 29, 2014 , at St. Pius the X Catholic Church, 1800 N. Camino Pio Decimo, Tucson. Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery, Tucson.
Joe Kerns was an outstanding individual an American. He was a WWII veteran and Prisoner of War in Russia. Joe joined the Knights of Columbus, March 1949 in Freeport New York. Joe served as President of the Holy Name Society and was an active member in the Saint Vincent de Paul Society. He made 4th Degree Knight on June 1st 1952 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. Sir Knight Kerns transferred to St. Pius X Council 10762 where he received recognition as an outstanding Knight many times. Brother Joe was a true gentleman, a Christian soul and generous to a fault. Those that knew him loved him. He is survived by his sister, Anne Frost of Fleming Island, FL. We will surely miss him; he is now in the hands of our Lord. |
