Barry Otha Sr., 66, passed away on November 19, 2011 in Chicago, IL. He was born on March 21, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio to his parents Otha and Mary-Lou Dixon. He is survived by Mary, his loving wife of 45 years; Devoted father to Barry Jr. and his wife Jennifer; Greg and his wife Cherise; Julie and the late Jennifer; Loving grandfather to Jeremy, Sarah, Ava and Andrew. Dear brother of Gregory (Skip) and the late Sylvia Krasner. Barry was greatly supportive of his grandchildren's sporting activities and enjoyed being with family at holidays and vacations. He was an avid golf player and a lifelong racquetball player. Dedicated to his Catholic faith, Barry faithfully attended daily mass and practiced his faith as Chaplain at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, IL. It was most gratifying for Barry to see his grandchildren continuing the practice of the Catholic faith. Visitation will be held Monday, November 28th at 9:00 AM at Gilligan Funeral Home located at 3671 Warsaw Ave., Cincinnati, OH followed by Mass at 10:30 AM directly across the street at St. Lawrence Church, 3680 Warsaw Avenue Cincinnati, OH 45205. In lieu of flowers charitable donations can be made to Livestrong.org and Epilepsy.org.
