COUNCIL #4962 - RAYTOWN- POPE PIUS XII REMEMBERS
RAYMOND L. STOCKMAN

Raymond Leonard Stockman (Ray), passed away February 8th, 2024 at 82 years of age.

Ray was a rarity. He was quick to smile and slow to anger; he lived so lovingly and earnestly that the world's cold immensity seemed to ebb after sharing even a brief conversation with him. His life was one of tremendous friendship and service. The space Ray has left is one of beaming smiles, steadfast support, advice, companionship, playfulness, fun, kindness and good company, but most of all, a love so honest and eternal that it has left an indelible embrace on our souls.

Ray's story began October 23rd, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri. He met Sis during their school years, fell in love and married just out of high school; a marriage that lasted 63 years. He was the proud father of four children.

Ray was a committed employee in the grocery business for 50 years; starting with Safeway and retiring from Cosentino's. Later in his life, he could be found at Florence Statuary, where he sold masterful statues to the community, with Robinson Elementary being one of his most notable clients. He also loved attending church and Knights of Columbus meetings, being a steadfast follower of God and a third-degree Knight at the local Council 4962. Everywhere he went, he was a friend to the world.

Ray will be remembered by so many. He will live on in the hearts of his wife Sis, his children Ray and wife Kathy, Steve, Kathy Ryan and husband Tom, and Mike and wife Anna. His warmth as a grandfather will be treasured in grandchildren Kelsey, Steven, Thomas, Anna, Grace, Joy, Alec, Rachel and husband Keenan, and daughter, Vivian (his great-granddaughter), and Sam. He touched the lives of his siblings Richard (deceased) and wife Helena, Dottie and (Neil; deceased) and husband Richard, Tom (deceased) and wife Barbara and John (deceased), Chuck and wife Marilyn, Rita and Vern (deceased), Bernie (deceased) and wife Gayl, and Janie and husband Mike. His memory will also live on in his many nieces and nephews, his many friends from work, church, the Knights of Columbus, Scouts, and the countless others whose lives he touched with the depth of his kindness.
