COUNCIL #6993 - ST. MARY OF MOKENA REMEMBERS
MICHAEL DUFFY

On November 15 we buried another World War II veteran. Mike Duffy fought with the Marines in the South Pacific battle of Saipan and served in the occupation army of Japan. After the war he joined the Chicago Police Department. Mike served as a police officer for 39 years, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant. He loved to tell stories about the police and Chicago politicians. Sir Knight Mike Duffy was exemplified into the Fourth Degree of the order in February, 2010. He leaves his wife Joann, two daughters, five grand children and twelve great grand children. He was honored at his wake by an honor guard from the Joliet Assembly. May he, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
