COUNCIL #945 - OWATONNA REMEMBERS
MARK H. HALL

Mark Henry Hall, age 74, of Owatonna, MN, passed away suddenly from an existing heart condition during a return trip after visiting with his family in the St. Cloud, MN area.
Mark was the sixth child of eleven children born to Myron and Valeria (Fridgen) Hall. He grew up in the St. Cloud area and graduated from St. Cloud Tech in 1967. Shortly following graduation, he met and eventually married, Brenda Brutger in 1972.
Mark and Brenda moved to Owatonna where they owned and operated the Thrifty Scot Motel, which eventually became the Super 8 Motel, from April 1977 through January 1997. During this time, they started their family and established lifelong roots in the Owatonna area.
Following the sale of the motel, Mark served on the Owatonna City Council for four years. He also enjoyed driving for the Owatonna Bus Company and always appreciated the kids and his fellow drivers. Mark's journey was one of connection and his devotion to family was evident by how immensely proud he was of his two sons and how he cherished his time with his grandchildren who lovingly refer to him as "Papa Mark".
A dedicated golfer, Mark found solace and joy on the golf course, forming lasting friendships and embracing the challenges of the game. He had a wonderful sense of humor that made us smile each and every day.
Mark is survived by wife Brenda; sons, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Owatonna, Patrick
(Sarah) Norwalk, IA; grandchildren, Harvin, Phillip, Lennon and Marlie Jo; brothers and sisters, David, Mary Zosel, Tim (Sharon), John (Roxy), Liz (Chester) Rorvig, Bill (Deb), Joan (Mike) Loesch, and Peter (Becky), sisters-in-law, Char and Judy, as well as many nieces and nephews.
