Roger Steven Malatt, 63, of Oswego, IL passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2023. Roger was born in Chicago, IL on September 7, 1960, the son of Raymond and Veronica (Cavanaugh) Malatt. He was a devout Catholic, his faith leading him in every aspect of his life. He graduated from Marist High School in 1978, Loras College in 1982, and received his MBA from Benedictine University in 2006. He was a longtime member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. In 1996 he married the love of his life, Amy Elizabeth (Pool) and they spent the next 27 years together. Roger was an avid Chicago White Sox and San Francisco 49ers fan. He was a true salesman and enjoyed his calling, most recently serving as Vice President of Sales for Plitek. He always had a moment to spare for his children and loved to play sports in the yard and coach their teams. He had a wonderful sense of humor, an infectious smile, and was truly one of a kind. His loss will be felt by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Amy; children; Brodie Robert (Michelle Uhwat), Steven Edwin, Daniel Roger, Eliana Elizabeth, Theresa Veronica, and Brian, Brittany, and Sarah.

Proud brother of Rick Malatt, Barb (Tom) Szmergalski, and Susan Malatt (sister-in-law).

Cherished member of the Pool family. Father and mother-in-law Ed and Anne Pool. Brother-in-law of Emily (Norm) Holmstrom, Gary (Colleen) Pool, Philip (Brandy) Pool, Alicia (Patrick) Kiel, and Megan (Seth) Berry.

Loved uncle of Michael (Emily), Mark, Dan (Anne), Katie (Jeff), Justin, Madeline (Josh), Michael, Blake, Sydney, Byron, Thomas, Lila, William, Aidan, Sean, Alana, Kathleen, Fulton, Layla, Simon, Deacon, Levi, Alex, Tyler, and extended family Jonathan, Sherise, and Maverick. He is also survived by countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert Malatt, and brother-in-law Samuel McElroy.

Family will be receiving guests on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Aurora, IL. Burial will follow at Risen Lord Cemetery, Oswego, IL.
