William "Bill" Dean Gray, born on August 12, 1956, in McAlester, OK, passed away unexpectedly on March 15, 2023, at the age of 66 in Knoxville, TN. Bill was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who lived a full and meaningful life. Bill is survived by his wife Christine Guidry Gray, their two children, Matthew Gray and Kristina Gray Jones, and his "boy" Joey Dean. He was a proud Pops to Kinsley Marie Jones and father-in-law to Kody Odell Jones. Bill is also survived by his sisters, Sandra Fleming (Glenn Fleming) and Robin Zander. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William F. Gray and Alpha Rhea Gray. Bill was a graduate of the University of New Orleans after which he pursued a career as a Sales Executive. Bill also proudly served as a Navigator in the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron (better known as the Hurricane Hunters). Reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, he retired from the United States Air Force Reserves after 29 years of service. Bill was a conversationalist who loved to tell stories and make people laugh. He had a smile that was contagious and a personality that was larger than life. Bill had an extraordinary passion for military history and was not shy to share his wealth of knowledge. He was a devoted family man and provider. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His love and presence will forever be felt by those who knew him. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass held at Saint Joseph's Abbey, 75376 River Road, Benedict, LA, on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity are preferred. |
