It is with great sadness that the family of Reverend Michael George Scherschel announces his sudden passing on August 10th at age 59. Father Mike served as the pastor of the recently merged SS. Matthew and Hubert parishes in Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg, Illinois.
He was the cherished son of Dorothy Jean and the late Frank Joseph Scherschel, of Cary, Illinois, and the loving brother of Julie (Billy) Polnow, Wendy (Joe) Siekierski, Kathy (Bill) McCormack, Pam (Jim) Garrelts, and Jenny (Mark) Polston. Mike was a dear uncle to 17 and a great uncle to 3.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 16th from 2:00 PM until the prayer services at 7:30 PM and Thursday, August 17th from 8:00 AM to until the time of the funeral mass at 10:00 AM at St. Hubert Catholic Church, 729 Grand Canyon Street, Hoffman Estates. Interment will be at Windridge Cemetery in Cary. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be appreciated to the St. Hubert School Tuition Assistance Fund, 729 Grand Canyon Street, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169.
