COUNCIL #16730 - FR. PAUL OF GRAYMOOR REMEMBERS
EDWARD JOHN DILL

Edward John Dill, Jr. (Johnny) age 78, passed away April 29, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born April 11, 1945 in Harlingen, Texas to Joyce Faye and Edward John Dill, Sr.

Johnny graduated from Rio Hondo High School in 1963. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the United States Air Force as an electronic warfare repairman working on B-52s. After returning home, he attended college at Pan American in Edinburg where he obtained his teaching certificate. He taught Piping Trades and VoTech in the Harlingen School District for 30+ years.

Johnny and his brother Danny built and raced cars. He was a jack of all trades and, in his later years, he worked for Home Depot where he enjoyed being able to help and educate customers in his knowledge of the trades. He was an active member of Our Lady of the Atonement Catholic Church and the Fr. Paul of Graymoor Knights of Columbus. Johnny was a quiet and patient man who often joked about being a “salt of the earth” kind of guy. He loved fishing and spending time with his family.

Cherishing his memory is his loving wife of 47 years, Helen N. Dill; daughter, Jennifer Guillen (Alfonso); son, John D. Dill (Cheyenne); grandchildren, Kathryn, David, Madelyn, Jack, Luke; brother, Danny Albert Dill (Maria) and many other loving family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
