COUNCIL #4849 - CARDINAL BELLARMINE REMEMBERS
JOHN A MAGLIO

John Anthony Maglio, 76, Dedicated husband, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and dear friend.

John passed away peacefully on December 27, 2022 in Aurora, Illinois. He was born to John and Marie Maglio in Brooklyn, NY on January 26, 1946.

John met his wife MaryJane Sousa while working for National Airlines in 1971. They married on August 16, 1972 and then welcomed their daughters MaryJean and Melinda.

In 1986 John took his entrepreneurial spirit and family to Orlando Florida to open a business. After many years in the restaurant and hospitality industry, it was John's greatest professional joy to sing. He was a performer throughout the state of NY while growing up with his older brother, Frank on piano. In Florida he performed at Buckets, various restaurants, and his favorite, the Citrus Club of Orlando. You'd find John Anthony singing his favorite Frank Sinatra songs at weddings, parties, professional gatherings. Playing The Villages with brother Frank again in their later years was such a delight for him.

His family was blessed with his beautiful voice at so many weddings and family parties. Always humbled to be asked, John would gratefully oblige.

John was a natural and loving grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with them hearing their stories, playing with snapchat filters, talking sports, making meatballs and sharing family recipe secrets.

His grandchildren brought him pride, peace and unconditional love.

John is survived by his wife, MaryJane; their children MaryJean (William) White and Melinda (Jonathon) Earlywine; four grandchildren, Dylan, Ashton, Connor, and Finley; his brothers Frank (Kathryn), Louis (Laura), and sister Maria (Joseph) Palmeri. John deeply loved his family. His mother, father, brothers, sister, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins were a solid foundation of love in his life.

The family would like to express gratitude for MaryJane's sister, Geraldine, who has greatly helped MaryJane through this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held for John in Florida this summer. Date will be determined soon.
