Obituary Dave J. Rueth, 85, of Tellico Village, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2022. Loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Dave was a man of faith known for his kind heart, generosity, great sense of humor and infectious laugh. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on September 22, 1937. He was a proud alumni of Marquette University. Spent time as a US Air Force reservist. Met and married the love of his life, Barbara, and raised a family in Waukesha, Wisconsin. After a career in engineering he retired from Texas Instruments after 25 years. He began his retirement in Fort Myers, Florida, then moved to Tennessee in 2007. Dave made many dear friends over the years who shared in his passions for sailing, motorcycles, Corvettes, boating, golfing, the Green Bay Packers, good whiskey and cigars. He enjoyed being a part of the Tellico Village COPs program and Knights of Columbus. Preceded in death by his daughter Heather, parents and grandparents. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara Rueth; daughter Kim Callahan (Scott); grandchildren, Owen and Ian; half sister Mary Schreck; sister-in-law Carolyn Wnuk (Don); and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Knights of Columbus, Marquette University Scholarship Fund or a charity of your choosing.
