Norman E. Spindler, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Mass of Christian Burial is set for Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Litomysl. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm at the funeral home on Monday. Burial will follow the mass at the Litomysl Church Cemetery. Norman was born June 22, 1956, in Owatonna to Eugene and Marian (Seykora) Spindler. He attended Owatonna High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1974. After high school, Norman continued his education at Faribault Vo-Tech in farm management. Norman was united in marriage to Laurie Giefer on August 11, 1979, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna. Norm was a dairy farmer and contract-finished hogs. While farming, he started working for the Owatonna School District in 1995 as a custodian and continued to work there until he retired in 2022. Norm was a member of the Owatonna Knights of Columbus and Holy Trinity Catholic Church. His life interests included camping, fishing, wood working, and spending time with his grandkids. Norm and Laurie's favorite place to travel was Kalona, Iowa where they enjoyed seeing the auction barn and the Amish farms and businesses. Norm is survived by his wife of 43 years, Laurie; children Valerie (Eric Burchard) of Owatonna, Matthew (Sheri) Spindler of Gaylord, MN, Sarah (Steven) Jeffery of Omaha, NE. His grandchildren: Axel and Katarzyna Burchard and Frank Jeffery (a baby boy Jeffery due in November); his mother Marian; and siblings: Jerome and Dale of Owatonna, Monica (John) Kirlin of Faribault, and Lisa (Tim) Karl of Nerstrand; and many cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
Norm was preceded in death by his father Eugene, infant granddaughter Darlyne Mae Jeffery and his sister Romona Meyer.
