GERALD PATTERSON

 

Gerald William “Gerry” Patterson, 90, De Pere, passed away surrounded by family on November 1, 2022, following a four-year battle with dementia. The son of Louis and Josephine (Albers) Patterson was born at home in De Pere on May 14, 1932.

Growing up, Gerry was an avid baseball player and graduated from Nicolet High School in 1950. He went on to serve in the United States Airforce and spent his career as a repairman for Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company.

On July 18, 1959, Gerry married Mary Ann Hendricks at St. Boniface Church. They loved to travel and spend time with family, especially their grandchildren. For many years, he coached Little League baseball and enjoyed golfing with friends.

Gerry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Ann; children, Mark Patterson, Terry (Rick) Carlson, and Sue (Mike) Brenwall; grandchildren, Sam (Megan) and Nick Patterson, Lindsay (Justin) Merckx and Ally Carlson, and Derek (Hannah) and Brett Brenwall. He is further survived by his great-grandchildren, Everett and August Merckx; siblings James Patterson and Joan Giles; as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Josephine; siblings, Rita (John) Foxgrover, Don (Mavis) Patterson, Mavis Patterson and John Patterson.

Family and friends may visit at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, 1307 Lourdes Avenue, De Pere, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. James Baraniak, O.Praem. officiating. Entombment will follow at Allouez Catholic Mausoleum.
