Charles Aloysius Meiser came to the end of his journey at the age of 86 on Dec. 29, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Naberhaus) Meiser, son, Andrew Meiser, daughter Amy Morgan and grandchildren, Kaden and Kayley Morgan by his side. Charles was born to Eugene and Agnes Meiser in Noble, OK in 1932.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ernest Meiser and sisters Margaret Elkins, Jeannie Gaffney and grandson, Keagen Morgan.
Charlie attended the Seminary of St. Thomas in Denver, CO that was under the direction the Vincentian Fathers; and was ordained for the diocese of Oklahoma City and Tulsa in 1957. He served as an associate pastor in El Reno, OK. Later he was on the Marriage Tribunal of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City and also served as the Vocation Director for the Archdiocese. He left the active ministry in 1969. He then worked as a sales clerk at the Sears Store in Midwest City and soon became an Allstate Insurance Agent in Edmond, OK until his retirement.
Charlie continued to be very active in his local parish of St. John the Baptist in Edmond, OK where he served for many years as reader, Eucharistic Minister, Knights of Columbus member and RCIA Director. He regularly attended morning Mass and prayed the Rosary with parishioners in the Chapel. Charlie will be missed by many - especially the Time Out group which he attended weekly.
