LELEAND BOB BASS

 

Leland Bob Bass was born on October 14, 1925, in Louisburg, MO. He was one of six children. Bob grew up in Luther, Oklahoma. As a young boy of 23 years old, he was in charge of herding sheep and milking cows. He would ride his horse to and from school. Bob moved to Edmond with his mom and sibling, there he attended Edmond Memorial High School (Bulldogs) where he played basketball.

In 1943 he left home to join the United States Navy where he served four years. During his enlistment he was in World War II and the Korean War. After the war, Bob returned home to Edmond, where he met Betty Louise Cook and was married for forty-three years. Betty was from a large family as well. She was one of 10 children. Bob and Betty had three boys, Bobby Bass, Mike Bass, and Paul Bass. Betty passed away on August 19, 1993. Bob remarried to Sue in 1997 and they were married for 25 years.

Bob is survived by his sister, Reba Dawkins of Oklahoma City, his wife Sue Bass of Edmond, Oklahoma, and his three sons, Bobby Bass of Wichita, KS, Mike Bass of Yukon, OK, and Paul Bass of Edmond, OK. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. His wife Sue Bass of Edmond has 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Bob left this world on February 18th, 2022, peacefully at the age of 96, in the home that he loved. Bob went to heaven to be with his loved ones. The family would like to thank Mercy Hospice Care for their wonderful love and attention that was given to him.
